The town runs long along the coast of river Danube, the other side belongs to the Börzsöny Mountain and it's a part of the Danube- Ipoly National Park. The famous Hungarian composer Kodály Zoltán lived here. All the troves, artifacts, and ethnical collections of the town are in the Börzsöny Museum. A special part of the collection is the inheritance of an egg-farrier.

Further sights: St. Louise Church, Luczenbacher Castle, Luczenbacher Chapell & Undercroft, ruins of a Roman sentinel post.

There is a yacht port at Szob that is very good news for the lover of the water sport.

A ferry runs on schedule between Szob and Pilismarót.

The most characterises building of the town is the roman-catholic church (Petőfi tér), in secession style, a work of the famous architectures Kós Károly and Jánszky Béla. There are nine passion pictures - made form metal - along the road to the classic Passion-Chapel. In the cemetery lies Szőnyi István the famous artist. His former living house exists as a Memorial Museum (Bartóky u. 7.).

There is a private shipping-historical collection in Zebegény owned by Mr Farkas Vince, retired captain.

The town is beloved by excursioners and tourists because of its very nice location. There's a wonderful view of the castle of Visegrád and the Danube bend from Julianus look-out-tower. The most famous citizen of the town was Kálmán Kittenberger, the explorer of Africa - every summer in honour of him there is a Kittenberger Feast in the town.

Sights: Catholic Church, Kálvária Chapel & Stations of Christ's last way, the home of Kittenberger, chesnut-forrest.

There is a ferry between Nagymaros and Visegrád.

Excursioners can use the 33 km long „Queen Beatrix" bicycle road on the left side of the Danube.

The town is situated in a very impressive environment, at the foot of the Börzsöny Mountain, and opposite the castle hill of Visegrád and the top of the Szentendrei Island.

Visitors can make very nice trips by the mountain train to Királyrét or can climbe in the mountain and reach Kisinóc, Nagy-hideghegy or Csóványos. The cellars and the presshouses at the Dózsa Gy. Street as well as the Catholic Church are nice in the village.

A cultural effervescence started in the village at beginning of the XX. century. Several famous artist have choosen this place to relax and create. The former house and yard of Gorka Géza, the Hungarian ceramic artist, who was remunerated by Kossuth Award, is situated here and nowaday it runs as a ceramic museum. (Szamos u. 22.)

The buildings of the coast is unique in the whole country and was planned by the architect Ybl Miklós. Further sights are the St. Andrew Church with the bohemian poling, the Protestant Church and the Migazzi Castle.
